I started playing chess as a child and went on to become the Australian Under-12 Chess Champion, representing Australia at the World Youth Chess Championships in Greece, Spain and Singapore.
Chess has taken me around the world, introduced me to wonderful people and taught me so much more than how to win a game. Now, I’d love to share that joy with the next generation.
Beyond chess, I’m the Lead at the Centre for Policy Development, where my work focuses on areas including early childhood and social policy.
While studying at university in Canberra, I taught chess in primary schools across the city. I studied law and international relations at ANU and a Master of Economics at Monash University. I especially love encouraging girls to give chess a go. Every child is welcome at the board.
A little more about my approach ↗Chess doesn’t have to be serious to be meaningful. Through games, stories and puzzles, children can explore ideas, try new things and discover what they’re capable of.

Imagination and friendly challenges make learning feel like an adventure.
Every question, idea and mistake is part of finding your own way forward.
Every child learns differently. There’s no single way to enjoy chess.
Whether you’re a parent or a school, we’d love to hear what you have in mind.
